Fried Tomato Recipe

Ingredients:

-6 cups diced tomatoes (about 2 pounds) -1/3 cup all-purpose flour -1 teaspoon salt -1/4 teaspoon black pepper -3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil -1/2 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs -1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese -2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet. 2. In a large bowl, combine diced tomatoes, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well. 3. Pour olive oil into a small dish. Dip each tomato piece into the oil, then coat with bread crumbs. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and parsley over top. 4. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.

Fried Tomato Sandwich

Ingredients: - One loaf of bread, sliced - Two tablespoons of mayonnaise - Half a cup of grated cheddar cheese - One tablespoon of chopped fresh thyme - Two cups of oil - Salt and pepper to taste - Eight ripe tomatoes, each cut into 8 slices Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 2. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, cheese, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper as desired. 3. Spread the mixture on one side of each slice of bread. 4. Layer the tomato slices on 4 of the bread slices, overlapping them slightly if needed. Top with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down. 5. Heat 1/2 cup oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot but not smoking. Add the sandwiches and cook for 2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crisp. Serve immediately while warm.

Fried Tomato Pizza

This pizza is one of my favorites! I like to make it on weeknights when I'm feeling lazy, but want something a little more special than just plain old pizza.

Ingredients:

1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

1/2 cup of marinara sauce

1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 a tomato, diced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Place it on a baking sheet and spread the marinara sauce on top. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce. Finally, top with the diced tomatoes.
  3. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot!

Fried Tomato Poppers

Ingredients:

○ 12 grape tomatoes, tops removed

○ 1/4 cup flour

○ 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

○ 1/4 teaspoon salt

○ 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

○ 1 large egg, beaten

○ 1/2 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
○ 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil, divided Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
    2. In a small bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. Place bread crumbs in another small bowl.
    3. Dip tomato slices into the flour mixture, then coat with the egg. Coat with bread crumbs.
    4. Place tomatoes on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil.
    5. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.

Fried Tomatoes with Parmesan

This tantalizing dish features tomatoes that are battered and fried until crispy, then topped with shredded Parmesan cheese and a sprinkling of fresh herbs. Fried Tomatoes with Parmesan is perfect for a light dinner or appetizer, and it's also a great way to use up any extra summer tomatoes.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/3 cup milk

1 egg 7 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 1/2 pounds small tomatoes, cut in half crosswise

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together flour, salt, and pepper. In another shallow dish, whisk together milk and egg. Dip tomato halves in the flour mixture to coat, then dip in the milk mixture to coat. Place the tomatoes on a wax paper–lined baking sheet.

  2. In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, the parsley, basil, and olive oil; sprinkle over tomatoes. Sprinkle with remaining 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
